What we love:
A 5K race cannot end racism but naming the need to create change and working together can make a difference. All proceeds from the Race Against Racism will support the Center for Racial and Gender Equity (CRGE) and our community programs of education, training, advocacy and change. We will keep running until injustice is rooted out; institutions are transformed, and the world sees women, girls and people of color the way we do: Equal, Powerful, Unstoppable.

Event: Barr Trail Mountain Race
Event Type: 12.6 Mile Course
What we love:
The Barr Trail Mountain Race is one of the Front Range’s historic summer mountain running events. The 12.6-mile course begins at the Cog Railway Station (6,570 ft) in Manitou Springs, Colorado, ascends Pikes Peak’s iconic Barr Trail to Barr Camp (10,200 ft) before turning, descending and finishing at the Barr Trailhead. We are an equal opportunity service provider and a permittee of the Pike National Forest.

What we love:
The Pikes Peak Marathon, founded in 1956, is the oldest continually held marathon in the United States, taking runners from Manitou Springs, Colorado, to the summit of Pikes Peak at 14,115 feet, and back down for a total of 26.2 grueling mountain miles. It and its sister race, the Pikes Peak Ascent, each climb about 7,800 vertical feet up the historic Barr Trail on the east face of the mountain. The Ascent, which climbs 13.3 miles to finish at the summit, used to be held on the same day as the Marathon but became its own event in the 1980s due to its popularity.

- The Virtual Participant program is designed for those who are not able to attend the 2018 Race for Every Child in person, but who would like to show their support by registering and fundraising. - The 5K and 10K courses offer rolling hills and beautiful scenery throughout the Mt. Washington neighborhood. You can run or walk the 5K (3.1 miles) course and it is a great distance for those looking for more than the 1 mile walk distance. The 10K (6.2 miles) is more challenging and features $4,100 in cash prizes.

- Since 1981 runners have been coming to Wheat Ridge to run the Farmers 5000! This race continues raise money to support school programs and promotes physical fitness and community spirit. All funds from entry fees are given to various educational and special programs within the school. The 5K run and walk, along with a 1K fun run, are open to all!

- Run for Your Buns is an annual 5K run/walk and 10K run benefitting colon cancer prevention. Over the course of a lifetime, one in 20 adults will be diagnosed with colon cancer. When detected early, colon cancer is treatable. Colonoscopy is the best line of defense in reducing risk.

- Come and join AIRLIFE Denver the annual AIRLIFE Memorial 5k/10k Run, benefiting Friends of AirLife. The event includes a 5k and 10k run, 5k walk and a Kids Run. After the races, runners can enjoy any one of the numerous family friendly activities that make this a must attend event every year. The non-profit group “Friends of AirLife” hosts the Annual AirLife Memorial Run/Walk every year in honor of the everyday heroes in EMS as well as those who have passed away in the line of duty. Donations and proceeds from this event are used to maintain the AirLife Memorial Park, support scholarship funds and provide charitable assistance for the families of EMS professionals who have passed away in the line of duty.
