BornFit and Gang headed to The Great Candy Run this past weekend! It was a beautiful day to be outside (especially since the cold has moved in over the past few days) and surrounded by the excitement that buzzed through the crowd….5,100 participants…woo hoo!
As we zoomed through Wash Park, the trail was a never ending rainbow of families, friends, and 4 legged counterparts in their pink, green and blue tech tee’s. Candy greeted you at the water station and finish line with a long line of kids grinning from ear to ear. But that wasn’t all…popcorn, cotton candy, live music and jump houses kept the party going.
Fun was had by all (even though some of us are sore)! The candy was a great motivator…, but The Great Candy Run is about more than just candy….it’s about family and hope! The GCR is hosted by The Fetal Health Foundation, a non-profit organization whose mission is to raise awareness for fetal syndromes as well as give hope to families who have experience with fetal syndromes. Their mission is to support, provide information, fund research, create awareness and be an outlet for leading medical information to help save babies lives.
